Dr. Paksima received his medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine and did his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Ohio University in Dayton, Ohio. He then completed fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases Program.
Dr. Paksima was the Director of the Division of Orthopedic Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center from 2007-2020. He was the first Chairman for the MediSys Department of Orthopedic Surgery and currently serves as the Emeritus Chairman of Orthopedics. Dr. Paksima is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in hand and upper extremity surgery.
He is a Clinical Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and Associate Chief of the Hand and Upper Extremity Division at NYU Langone Orthopedic Department. Dr. Paksima is Surgeon in Chief and Medical Director of the Joan H. and Preston Robert Tisch Center at Essex Crossing.
He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, past resident of the hand section for the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand as well as on the executive board of the New York Society for Surgery of the Hand. He serves as a Board Examiner for the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedics Surgery.
